What times do you leave & come back?
We depart from Bluff at 7.30am and return to Bluff between 3.00pm and 4.00pm

Can I be picked up or droped off at Stewart Island? 
Yes by booking one or both online booking. 

What happens if we don't see a shark?
You will receive a voucher, which is valid for 1 year.

How much does it cost?
Day trips $469.00 Sightseeing $299.00 Introduction $99.00

Do we need certification to shark cage dive?
Preferred, but not essential, as you will need to do a scuba introdution.This is done on your departure day.

What is an introduction? 
A scuba introdution is a service we provide so everyone can enjoy this experience. It is for people who don't have a dive certification. We have a dive instructor onboard they give an equipment lesson on the way to the site. Some self-aid skills are explain ei(mask and reg clear). After saftey Brief the instuctor will enter the cage and assess the client. We find this helps non divers be more comfortable and a lot more confident.

How far is it from Bluff to Edwards Island? 
It takes 1 hour.

What age can a child participate?
12 yrs and upwards.

Is food included?
Yes.

Is dive gear included?
Yes.

Do we dive with air?
Yes. If you don't have a dive certification, you will need to do a scuba introduction which is conducted by a qualified dive instructor and completed on the day of the trip. Cost $99.00  

How many go in at a time when we shark cage dive?
5 people. 

How long will I get in the cage? 
Around 25 mins per go.

How many goes in the cage will I get?  
 2-3 on most occasions.

What depth is the cage in the ocean?  
 It sits at the surface.

How far ahead should I book?
Minimum of a week ahead so you aren't disappointed.

When is the best time to see the sharks?    
Between 1st December-30th June.

Can I use a camera in the cage?
Yes, sharks will swim close to the cage

Can we hire underwater camera's?
Yes from $20 per day, and at completion of the day you get to take home the memory card

Does Shark Experience pick up from Invercargill and Districts?    
No we operate from Bluff

How Can I pay?
Credit card – Mastercard, Visa, through our online booking page. 

What happens if I bring some of my own gear, do I get it cheaper?
No.
 

Will I need to bring warm clothing?
Yes, always be prepared we have been known to get four seasons in one day.

Will I see other animals during the day?
Yes, seals, albatross and sometimes dolphins and whales.
